Chef Salvatore De Vincentis

Chef Salvatore De Vincentis is the newly appointed Executive Italian Chef at Mezzo Mezzo, the Italian restaurant at JW Marriott Mumbai. He has over 23 years of experience having worked in various countries across popular restaurants and hotels around the world.

Before joining JW Marriott Mumbai, Chef Salvatore worked as the Executive chef of Paparazzi, located at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel since June 2009. During his tenure, he was responsible for revamping the restaurant into a luxury dining destination. Prior to working at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, in 2008 Chef Salvatore worked in Grand Hyatt, Dubai and in 2007 at the Sheraton Amman, Jordania as the Specialty Italian Chef.

Since 1988 when he started working as a chef at a restaurant in his hometown, Chef Salvatore has worked in various capacities in famous hotels and standalone restaurants across Bahamas, Florida, Jamaica, Italy and Spain and as well as Tajikistan. During the 23 years that have followed, Salvatore has evolved into an Executive Chef with international experience who has lent his touch, his creativity and imagination at some of the most popular restaurants around the world.

His culinary flair has earned him the Wofex Worldwide Competition Award for Best Italian chef in Philippines.

Given the vast and varied experience he has gained over the years, Chef Salvatore brings on board the knowledge and skills of running a successful restaurant, a traditional understanding of authentic Italian cuisine and a refreshing approach to fine dining.

Chef Salvatore firmly believes that Italian food is all about enjoyment and quality ingredients. He makes sure his diners are delighted by excellent food that Italian cuisine is world-famous for.

Born in Sorrento, Italy, Chef Salvatore learned to cook the way all great Italian chefs learned to cook, at the side of his mother making Sunday night dinners for their family. By the age of 13, Salvatore was making the fresh pasta at the house and turning it into gnocchi.

Apart from cooking, Chef Salvatore takes a keen interest in sports and enjoys swimming.
