Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield is all geared up to launch its exclusive Italian restaurant Alto Vino. Executive Chef, Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, Raheel Ahmad along with Italian Chef Alfonso Montefusco are set to bring to your table the rich culinary history and charm of Italy.

This modern trattoria serves hand crafted and carefully designed authentic, quality Italian cuisine that promises to be a gastronomical delight.

Alto Vino gives patrons the chance to be part of the culinary experience by adapting an open interactive kitchen concept. This also allows the tantalizing aromas of Tuscan, Lombardy and even Liguria delicacies to transport you to a home in Italy. With the outlets objective to finally be able to offer diners high quality authentic Italian food, that would make you feel like you were eating in an actual Italian home, Chefs here use an amalgamation of local produce with ingredients that are specially imported to ensure the true flavor and authenticity of each dish.

Some of the signature dishes served at the restaurant include Egg Yolk Raviolo, Trenette all’Orto, Spigola, Fritto Misto, and Risotto ai Funghi. The favourite Italian dessert, Tiramisu, is the perfect way to indulge in pure Italian bliss after a sinful meal.

An Italian specialty restaurant cannot be complete without some Italian coffee & beverages and Alto Vino will not disappoint you there. The beverage menu at the restaurant offers Illy coffee, grappa, selection of beer and the much talked about limón cello. The wine fridge at the outlets open kitchen, displays some of the exotic Italian vintage wines that the patrons can indulge into along with the fare.

Wood top tables and the wooden and marble floor with rustic elements both distressed and polished all contribute to the contemporary yet traditional decor of the restaurant setting the ambience just right to flaunt the true colors of architecturally rich Italy. The natural lighting during the day and the soft lowered lights in the evening with the flickering of candles- all gives a lift to the splendid look of the restaurant. Chef Alfonso Montefusco

With a career that spans over a decade, Alfonso Montefusco is all set to take up his new role at Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield as the new head chef in Alto Vino, the soon to be launched’s exclusive speciality  Italian restaurant of the property.  Born in Naples and having lived in Milan for a major part of his young adult life, Alfonso is a proud graduate in ”Chef Training Program” from the Natural Gourmet School of New York. Now a pioneering trend- setter in the F&B industry, Chef Alfonso, though all his travels across Italy has immense amount of skill, knowledge  and expertise that he cant wait to showcase.

Author of the famous Italian cookbook  Il fantastic cuoco’, the multi-talented Alfonso has made his appearance in some of globally popular cooking shows on both TV and Radio including the popular TV show “Il gusto del Parco” which is a 2 years road- tour around different regions in Italy to descover regional and traditional recipes to re-execute in a contemporary style and Frigorifero’, which is an equally popular cooking show on radio.

With a lineage of 15 years in the F & B industry, the much able Alfonso has also been a visiting faculty at various education institutes including the Institute of Culinary Education in New York- USA, A.S.C.O.M. -Bergamo, Domus Academy- Milan, Italy and the Istituto della Cucina Italiana in Milan- Italy. In addition, Alfonso has also worked with Vougue Uomo and Look magazine as the editors of their food pages.

Chef Alfonso Montefusco, is currently working on his second book “Il Fantastico Cuoco”.
