About the Restaurant

The Lantern is a remarkable amalgam of casual fine dining and cutting-edge nightlife designed by International avant garde designers Super Potato. Resembling a Chinese lantern, the restaurant’s unique dining and lifestyle experiences explore diverse aspects of the world-famous Chinese cuisine.

Authentic Dim Sum creations explore the complex interplay of flavor, color, aroma and texture while regional specialties from across China such as hot and sour chicken soup and ‘ma po’ tofu celebrate the time-honored classics of China’s distinguished culinary history.

Two levels of indoor seating are characterized by rich hardwoods and stately granites. Exotic textiles and porcelain vessels line the walls and recessed lighting bathes each table in a warm luminescence.

Outdoors, the al fresco dining experience is accentuated by lush foliage and the gentle gurgle of flowing water. Occupying the third level of the venue, the fashionably spare Lantern Bar serves distinctive Asian beverages, spirits, wines, cocktails and beer.

Chef Anupam Banerjee

Anupam Banerjee is the Executive Chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore and is responsible for entire kitchen, menu planning and overseeing the daily culinary operations of all 7 restaurants and bars, in-room dining, catering and special events. A veteran of luxury hotel kitchens, Chef Banerjee’s enthusiasm for exploring innovative culinary possibilities is well-established and like many of the world’s best culinary artists he is obsessed with fresh ingredients and clean, subtle flavors. After beginning his career with Oberoi Centre of Learning & 
Development, Chef Banerjee’s culinary calling took him out of his first kitchen –and across the globe. 
Chef Banerjee spent two years at the historic Raffles hotel in Singapore before moving to Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London which featured one Michelin Star and 4 AA Rosettes. He then moved to Mandarin Oriental, Geneva which was awarded one Star Michelin and 15 points on Gault Millau during his leadership after one year of successful opening. Prior to moving to Bangalore Chef Anupam Banerjee was the Executive Chef for Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C 
In the past he has been associated with Chef Alain Soliveres in his Michelin-2-Star,Chef Pierre Gagnaire in his 3 Star Michelin ,Charlie Trotters, Jeun Fleury, Lea Linster, among others. The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore, the first Ritz – Carlton hotel in India, is a 277-room, five-star luxury property, which will offer exquisite restaurants, extensive meeting and flexible events space, a luxurious spa, an outdoor swimming pool, and high- end retail boutiques. In addition to spacious rooms and suites, the hotel will include The Ritz-Carlton Club, a private floor accessible only by elevator key and offering light fare and dedicated concierge service throughout the day.
