About the Restaurant

Ottimo, which translates to ‘excellent’, is the signature Pan-Italian dining experience that celebrates quintessential Italian dishes prepared from the finest local and imported ingredients.  It is a unique offering of modern and contemporary cuisine while ensuring the traditional elements of Italian cuisine are not compromised.

If one looks around, they can take a trail to the mountains, valleys, farms and coasts of Italy from a specially compiled menu that is complemented by an impressive wine and grappa library, all combined with the heart-warming aromas drifting from the oven at the centre of the show kitchen. The menu boasts of thoughtfully composed appetizers, soups, pastas, risottos, pizzas and main courses that showcase inverted specialties from Rome, Florence, Parma, Milan, Livorno and many other characterful areas of the country. The dessert section seals the case for Italian culinary mastery.

Ottimo revels in interesting ingredients. Olive Oil Ice Cream, Frozen Honey Drops, Indian Naan Khatai all come together for sinful delights, with a twist of contemporary Italian.

Nature peeps in through all corners at Ottimo, like the “Terrariums” which are micro gardens in jars and the Ottimo Coat of Arms represents their affair with rustic herbs and woody essences.

It is an endeavour to bring a slice of Italy to the beautiful Garden City of Bengaluru.  

 

Chef Vittorio Greco

Hailing from the South of Italy, Resident Italian Master Chef Vittorio Greco, embraced the fine art of cooking over 25 years ago during the summer of 1983 in Tuscany’s island of Elba .After a diploma in culinary sciences his travels took him across Piedmont, Parma, Vesilia, dabbling with being a restaurateur & chef. After setting up this own seafood restaurant in Parma together with his wife, Chef Greco took the plunge to move to Australia.

Setting up a home in Brisbane and armed with his experience across 1 star Michelin restaurants across Italy, he continued his passion with yet another Michelin restaurant at Brisbane & Queensland. He further honed his entrepreneurial skills with 2 restaurant acquisitions apart from garnering eminent awards & accolades for the best restaurant.

Vittorio Greco’s inspiration & specialty is inclined towards traditional Italian cuisine. A member of the Italian worldwide Chefs Association, Greco’s culinary philosophy rests in retaining the simplicity & authenticity of the dish while exploring & juxtaposing the season’s freshest produce to create stellar dining experiences.

Amiable, a spirited traveler and truly a peoples person, Greco’s affinity for languages holds him in good stead. Fluent in Italian, English & Spanish and on his way to mastering Hindi & Kannada, Chef Greco is enjoying his stint here creating signature specials for Bangalore’s discerning clientele.
