Our award winning Asian restaurant combines authentic cuisines from China, Japan and Thailand by our team of expatriate Chefs to offer a unique culinary experience. The restaurant also features a separate bar area and two private dining rooms. All the dishes are crafted with meticulous attention by our team of expatriate Chefs. Highlights from the Japanese section include Sushi, Sashimi and a live tempura station. Chinese Chef David’s kitchen lays out a variation of tantalizing offerings, including a live dim sum station. Chef David Leung from Hong Kong has more than 30 year’s culinary experience. He is the new addition to our award winning Asian restaurant 19 Oriental Avenue and has worked his magic in several award-winning restaurants in Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, South Korea and Sri-Lanka. He is inspired by his travel experiences and has developed his own unique combination of taste and culinary aesthetics. Specializing in Cantonese cuisine, Chef David is well known for his seafood dishes and signature creations such as braised Australian Lobster, baked diced chicken and sautéed fillet of pomfret. Dignitaries from around the world have experience his ultimate food journey and Chef David has received appreciation from the Presidents of China, Sri-Lanka, Philippines as well as Thai Royalty.
Naphaphak Prompaksa or Tam as she prefers to be called is an art lover and an avid traveler. Aspiring to be a teacher since childhood, destiny had something else in store for her. With a degree in accounts under her belt, she chose to follow her heart and her true calling – to be a chef. After graduating from the famous Thai culinary school Vajiravudh College in Bangkok, her tryst with cooking started with a stint at the Royal Thai Consulate in India. This newfound love took her to different parts of the world, always driven by the belief that Thai cuisine should be rightly showcased outside Thailand, she set out on one culinary adventure after another. She has worked her magic in renowned hotels around the world including Grand Hyatt Doha. Her journeys around the world finally brought her to Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi, where she has brought her own special magic to the Thai kitchen of our award -winning Pan Asian restaurant, 19 Oriental Avenue. A mistress of spices with more than a decade of culinary experience and an adept juggler of flavours, a meal cooked by Chef Tam brings Thailand to New Delhi.
