Celini Mumbai, the truly Italian restaurant in Mumbai, with home-style cooking embraces traditional Italian recipes and presents them with a modern approach. Exuding an understated elegance, the interiors of Celini Mumbai are contemporary and simple. The Mumbai restaurant showcases a wood-fired pizza oven, rotisserie and charcoal grill – all built into its show kitchen designed by Molteni of France, where the sights and smells of Chef Alessandro Persico’s Italian cooking invades all the senses.

Chef Alessandro Persico

As chef de cuisine, Alessandro Persico brings 17 years of culinary expertise to Celini, Grand Hyatt Mumbai’s home-style Italian restaurant. Born in the northern Italian city and seaport of Genova, Chef Alessandro underwent formal training in food & beverage industry at the culinary school of Nino Bergese, and then went on to train at the Grand Hotel, Monaco. He started his culinary journey at Veliero restaurant in Genevo as chef de partie and then moved on to Zeffirino Ristorante, where he spent over 12 years in multiple destinations, including Las Vegas. Chef Alessandro was a member of the team that earned the restaurant the status of one of Las Vegas’ best restaurants. A contributor to our entrée section, Chef Alessandro has spent some time understanding guests’ and profiles before introducing his signature recipes and styles to the Celini kitchen.
